About Tim Philpot

Tim Philpot is a financial advisor in Hurst, Texas. He serves as a personal financial strategist and advisor to near retirees, retirees, professionals, business owners, widowers, widows and independent women throughout Texas. He is certified by the American Institute of CPAs as a PFS – Personal Financial Specialist and is certified by Kingdom Advisors, a faith based organization of financial advisors. Tim has been named a 2010 and 2011 “Five Star Personal Wealth Manager” by Texas Monthly Magazine.

Tim grew up in a faith based rural farming Georgia family that emphasized spiritual values, “honest” hard work and higher education. His father Robert owned and operated a successful sheet metal business. His step father Bill retired from the US Navy and his mother, Nellie, was a stay at home Mom, who after her children were grown, became a successful furniture saleswoman. Following his parents’ work ethic he worked and paid his way through college by being a bread route salesman during the summers while not in college.

Tim received his B.B.A. from the University of Georgia. Upon completing college, he began work with a national CPA firm and moved to South Carolina. After four years practicing as a CPA, Tim left public accounting and started a career in healthcare that lasted twenty-five years. Twenty years of that time was as CEO of a major hospital health care system.

Because Tim values higher education, after thirteen years of employment he enrolled at The University of Texas At Arlington and obtained his MBA degree. Tim now serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Finance at UTA and teaches in the Masters for Healthcare Administration program. He is a frequent speaker on a variety of subjects for the Texas Society of CPAs and he has presented various continuing education programs for CPAs as part of his work at Preservation Financial.

Tim serves on the Board of Directors of several community organizations. One such organization is 6 Stones Missions Network. 6 Stones Mission Network is a local nonprofit organization that works with a coalition of churches, nonprofit agencies and other entities to assist in meeting the needs of people in the Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Texas community. St6nes is all about serving others. Tim chairs the Resource Development Committee of the St6nes Board.

Married to his wife Therese for over thirty years, Tim has one daughter who is grown and married. Tiffany and her husband Ryan have blessed Tim and Therese with two grandsons, Jackson and Ryder.

In 1996 Tim semi-retired from healthcare and founded what is known today as Preservation Financial. Tim desires to serve others by helping them progress in their spiritual, financial and personal lives.
