David Schoening

MBA, CPA, CFP®

David Schoening's desire is to help his clients put financial strategies in place to help lower risk, grow assets, and provide retirement income. He is passionate to help people prudently steward the finances that God has allowed them to accumulate. David learned early on from his father, one of the first 200 CPAs in Nebraska, many conservative financial management principles: spend less than you earn, minimize the use of debt, and save up for your future. These are principles David has followed his entire life.

David's career includes public tax accounting, a successful start-up technology consulting firm, and financial management in insurance and healthcare companies. While successful in these roles, he found his calling while serving as Chief Financial Officer of a home healthcare organization. While there, David gained an appreciation for the health and financial issues faced by people in retirement and decided to do something about that by becoming a full-time personal financial advisor in 2003. Since then, he has dedicated himself to diligently helping those preparing for and nearing retirement. As a Certified Financial Planner, CFP®, practitioner and CPA*, David now devotes himself to helping those in the prime of life to apply financial strategies that are designed to avoid pitfalls and help provide a confident financial future.

He received his MBA degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington and has served on the adjunct faculty of the UTA Department of Finance where he has taught graduate finance classes. He has also taught continuing education to CPA's and has been a frequent speaker for the Texas Society of CPA's.

David speaks in local area churches on the topic of biblical stewardship principles. He serves on the Stewardship Leadership Team at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, and leads the monthly discipleship program, Kingdom Advisors, for financial professionals.

David lives with his wonderful wife of more than 23 years, Allison, in Colleyville, Texas.
