About David Schoening

David’s desire is to help his clients put financial strategies in place to lower risk and provide for future contingencies. He received his MBA degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington and is now on the graduate Adjunct Faculty of the UTA, Department of Finance, where he regularly teaches a graduate Healthcare Finance class.

David’s father was one of the first 200 CPAs in Nebraska. His father taught him conservative financial management principles since he was very young: Never spend more than you earn; Minimize the use of Debt; and Save up for your future. These are principles David has followed his entire life.

David’s career includes public tax accounting, a successful start-up technology consulting firm, and financial management in insurance and healthcare companies. While serving as Chief Financial Officer of a home healthcare organization, David gained an appreciation for the health and financial issues faced by seniors in retirement. He has seen firsthand the financial ruin of those who failed to plan adequately or were victimized, so he decided do something about it and became a full-time personal financial advisor in 2003.

David is a sought after speaker for CPA continuing education training and speaks in local area churches on the topic of Biblical stewardship principles. He is on the Stewardship Leadership Team at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, and leads the monthly discipleship program, Kingdom Advisors, for financial professionals. David has a passion to help people prudently steward the finances that God has allowed them to accumulate.

Not only as a CPA* but also as a CFP® practitioner, David now devotes himself to helping those in the prime of life to apply proven financial strategies to avoid pitfalls and secure their future financially, resulting in peace of mind.

David lives with his wonderful wife of 20 years, Allison, in Colleyville, Texas.
